Parallel and distributed computing, optimization algorithms, mobile ad-hoc & wireless sensor networks, pervasive and mobile computing, and security issues in computing environments.
She received her B.Sc. in Informatics from the Dept. of Informatics, Technological Educational Institution of Athens (1991) and her M.Sc. by research in Computer Security from the Dept. of Computer Science, University College Dublin, National University of Ireland (1994). She is currently a PhD candidate at the Dept. of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, University of the Aegean (2011). Since 2002, she is a Lecturer at the Dept. of Informatics, Technological Educational Institution of Athens.
She was a Lecturer (407/80) at the Dept. of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, University of the Aegean (2000-2002), a Teaching Assistant at the Dept. of Informatics, Technological Educational Institution of Athens (1995-2003), and a researcher of the Computer Networks and Distributed Systems Research Group (CNDSRG), University College Dublin, National University of Ireland (1992-1995). She has worked in R&D projects funded by the Greek government, the Irish government, and the EU.
Her published work includes a thesis (M.Sc.), 4 chapters in books, (IOS Press), 9 conferences and 2 journals. She has been a reviewer in numerous international conferences. She is a member of the Greek Computer Society (GCS), the ACM and the IEEE Computer Society.
Her research interests are IT Security, Intrusion Detection, Algorithmic Game Theory, and Technology in Computer Science Education.
